9. Sleeping Dogs

Album: One Drop of Poison

Track 9. Sleeping Dogs

Let sleeping dogs lie let by gones go by
You made your own bed where your sorrow rests
They sleep in your soul and temper the shame
With old tired eyes they close out the pain
Your worn out old friend whose memory never ends
Dreams up all the time that you’ve lost again

Let sleeping dogs lie and shine on the pain
You’ll never know why but your still to blame

Sleeping dogs lay still all through the night
Sleeping dogs lay still now don’t you cry
Sleeping dogs, sleeping dogs

Let sleeping dogs lie let by gones go by
Some things that we dread are better unsaid
They hide in a smile and never complain
With shaggy old coats they’re broken and lame
Don’t ever forget what waking them will do
‘Cause this hungry pack will leave nothing of you

Let sleeping dogs lie and shine on the pain
You’ll never know why but your still to blame
Let sleeping dogs lie let by gones go by
You made your own bed where your sorrow rests
Ya some things that we dread are better unsaid
